Baseline Geotechnical is a small, niche firm of geotechnical specialists working out of The Workshop – Avondale. The foundation of our business is understanding our clients’ business and efficiently providing the expertise they need. We focus on mid-range projects that we consider are not currently being well serviced by large multi-disciplinary companies. Our team have all worked in large multidisciplinary consultancy businesses but enjoy the flexibility and variability that working in a smaller business provides. Our core business is supporting infrastructure development (think roads and water/wastewater pipes), response to natural hazard events and extractives (mines and quarries).
The business was founded in 2018 by our Director Cameron Lines. We’ve been working out of The Workshop – Avondale since 2021. A shared space was the obvious solution for a business of our size when we added first Stefan, then Tzin and more recently Alena. This has allowed a necessary level of coordination between our staff, while leaving others to manage the operational and logistical sides of an office location (thanks Donna & Laura). The unanticipated added benefit of a shared space is access to skilled people in different fields and the inevitable cross pollination of ideas and exposure to different business approaches.”
