What’s your biz all about? Give us the lowdown!
WhatToDoWorld is a travel brokerage company based in Auckland, helping travellers across New Zealand and beyond plan unforgettable trips with flair. We specialise in tailor-made journeys, insider experiences, and seamless logistics — from flights and rail to boutique stays, private tours, and hidden gems. Whether you’re dreaming of a luxe escape in the French Riviera or an off-the-beaten-track adventure in Europe, we make it happen.
What made you take the leap and start your business?
Travel has been my lifelong passion — I’ve explored over 40 countries and every continent, always searching for those “wow” moments that make a trip truly special. I started WhatToDoWorld to help others experience the same magic and to take the stress out of planning. I wanted to offer more than just bookings — I wanted to create stories worth telling. After a career in IT, I became a tour guide and then created a tour operating company on the Frech Riviera so that felt natural to get into the last part of the travel industry that I haven’t touched : the travel agent side! This journey helps me understand every part and component of a trip!
Hit any big milestones or wins recently? Share the good news!
We recently launched WhatToDoWorld.com and it felt so lovely to have already some old clients reaching out or recommending our services to their network. Even my daughter school asked me to help organize their school trip to Tahiti! That was big 😊
Best advice for small biz owners or freelancers?
Stay human. People connect with people — not logos or pitches. Be real, be passionate, and never underestimate the power of word-of-mouth and great service. That’s what turns clients into long-term advocates.
What’s your #1 productivity hack?
Using templates and automations (need more) along with deep work sessions with music.
Why TW – What do you love about us?
The vibe, the energy, and the people! It’s a great mix of motivation and connection (and the coffee’s not bad either).
Coworking vs. home or café – what’s the real difference?
Working from home felt too isolating, and cafés get noisy fast. The Workshop strikes the perfect balance between focus and community. Plus, it’s nice to bounce ideas off other creatives and small business owners. And I’m even starting to make new friends, love it!
How’s the Workshop vibe helped you level up your work?
It’s helped me stay grounded and consistent. Having a routine and being surrounded by like-minded people keeps the energy up — even during slow or busy seasons. It’s also might open doors for collaborations and fresh ideas.
Three words to describe The Workshop – go!
Welcoming. Uplifting. Productive.
Someone thinking about joining? What would you say to them?
Do it! It’s a game-changer if you’re a solo operator or freelancer. It’s more than just a desk — it’s a space that helps your business grow.
